Although the original B2 publication was generic in terms of setting, the 1999 Return module placed the Keep in Yeomanry, making it a canonical location in. A sequel, the Return to the Keep on the Borderlands (1999) for 2nd edition AD&D, was set twenty years after the events of the original module, and featured a fully re-stocked Caves of Chaos. This allows my players (and me) to gain the benefits of decades of game design advancements as far as mechanics are concerned. While I will be running the original B2-The Keep On The Borderlands module, I will be using the 5th edition of the Dungeons & Dragons rule set.

The back and forth of us venturing from the Keep to slay evil lurking the in caves (and making a bit of coin in the process) kept us occupied for many, MANY hours. Keep on the Borderlands came out of print in the early 1980s, but was reprinted. Welcome to where it all began for me and my crew – The Keep on the Borderlands! Shit, this is back when they were old-school adventures old-school.
